Read moreJulie Lind Rupp is a Bay Area native and graduate of San Jose State University (she received her BA in 2003 and her MPA in 2007). Ms. Lind Rupp has been active in politics for over 15 years on a variety of levels. She worked for seven years in the State Legislature, and was the Political Director/Assistant Executive Officer of the San Mateo Labor Council from May 2010-August 2016 when she took over as head of the organization. She is a member of OPEIU Local 29.
Ms. Lind Rupp is a graduate of both Emerge California and the AFL-CIO Leadership Institute, spent three years as a Statewide Elected Officer of the CA Young Democrats, has been a delegate to the California Democratic Party (CDP) since 2004, and was recognized in 2011 by the CDP with their John F. Kennedy, Jr. Award for Excellence in Public Service. She is a former member of the Santa Clara County Domestic Violence Council, the Santa Clara County Commission on the Status of Women, and the Hayward Human Services Commission. She currently serves on the CA State Assembly Speaker’s Commission on Labor Education, the San Francisco State Labor Studies Advisory Board, and volunteers her time as a “wish granter” with the Bay Area Chapter of the Make a Wish Foundation. Ms. Lind Rupp lives in Hayward with her husband David (a proud union electrician – IBEW 617) and their newborn daughter Cassidy Ann.
