Read moreNicole Walker currently works as an environmental health specialist for the Los Angeles Unified School District. She along with her business partner, author Michael McGrew started a non-profit called the Inspiration Amongst Manifestation (I.A.M) Project for Literacy. The organization focuses on providing literacy classes (formal, business, financial, etc.) for disadvantaged youth and also publishes Spare Change, an anthology of the program participants’ essays. Her previous employment includes working as a business development associate for the British Consulate in Los Angeles and as a development specialist for the County of Riverside Economic Development Agency. Ms. Walker received her bachelors in urban studies and her masters in public policy from California State University Northridge. Ms. Walker is also an alumna of the African American Board Leadership Institute and Ready to Lead Orange County. She is also a participant in Ready to Win as a campaign staffer. Ms. Walker is also a published author with her first novel, The Malburry Tree, released in 2013. She currently serves as the president of the Los Angeles International Black Chamber of Commerce as well as a board member of the Black Chamber of Commerce, Inland Empire.
