Born and raised in San Mateo, Stacie Nevares has the law enforcement, management, and business experience necessary to run a local government department.
Stacie is currently an analyst with the University of California, San Francisco Police Department. There she is responsible for managing personnel policies, media and community relations activities, and evaluation of department procedures.
Prior to her work at UCSF, Stacie was an assistant to the San Mateo Coroner. At the Coroner’s department, she was responsible for all communications and public outreach, and helped develop the San Mateo County Homicide Protocol and other policies that help the Coroner’s and Sheriff’s departments solve cases collaboratively.
Stacie has also served as a conservator to several San Mateo County family estates, helping people secure the best legal, medical and social services available for their needs. She began her career in San Mateo as an office specialist for the San Mateo County Workforce Development office.
Stacie is a tireless volunteer and advocate in the community, giving her time to organizations such as the San Mateo Community Emergency Response Team, Etosha Rescue and Adoption Center, Girls for a Change, California Native Daughters and Bonita Parlor.
Stacie received her Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) from Golden Gate University and Bachelor’s Degrees in Legal Studies and American Studies + with an emphasis in Juvenile Justice + from University of California, Berkeley.
