She is a founding member of San Mateo County Democracy for America, the Dean Democratic Club of Santa Clara County, California for Democracy and Northern California for Democracy (Howard Dean groups), and the Election Reform Group of San Mateo. During the 2004 election, she worked on campaigns for Howard Dean, Kelly Fergusson, Andy Cohen, Ira Ruskin, John Kerry and Richard Morrison (Houston Democrat running against Tom DeLay) She is a graduate of the San Mateo County Citizens Academy. Along with another activist, Lasensky originated Teas for Choice to publicize Dorothy Fadiman’s DVD.Lasensky has served as a board member and president of the Peninsula Orchid Society and has been active for many years in promoting labyrinths and women’s spirituality at Stanford University. Lasensky has worked at Stanford University for over 20 years.
