Read moreLetitia Henderson, MSW- Manages grant funded initiatives and contracts for the Alameda County Probation Department in service of juvenile justice programs and services. Prior to joining the Probation Department, Ms. Henderson held several positions that enabled her to serve disadvantaged groups throughout Alameda County. With over twelve (12) years of direct service in areas of Substance Abuse (Thunder Road Adolescent Treatment Centers); Higher Education Outreach (Center for Educational Partnerships at UC Berkeley); Transition Age Youth (Casey Family Programs); and Community Development (Oakland Housing Authority). Ms. Henderson has also developed curriculum, coordinated and facilitated trainings on an array of topics for local and state-wide systems improvement efforts. Ms. Henderson’s civic engagement and leadership includes participation in organizational boards and commissions in the City of Oakland’s Safety and Services Oversight Commission (Measure Z); Alameda County Commission on the Status of Women; Family Violence Law Center (former board member); and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Ms. Henderson completed both her undergraduate (B.A. Social Welfare & African American Studies) and graduate education (Master’s in Social Welfare) at University of California at Berkeley. Ms. Henderson is also an alumna of the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs and is also an alumna of McClymonds High School.
