I have two undergraduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania- one in Finance and Accounting from the Wharton School and the other in Systems Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. My passion has always been solving problems and improving systems or businesses. I spent half of my professional life investing in businesses and the other half of it leading my community as a Civic Association President and then Mayor.
My transition into politics occurred when I became frustrated by my poorly run Village government in Roslyn Harbor. I observed a municipality that was increasing taxes and decreasing services. First as a civic leader and then as Mayor, I set a new cultural tone- one of serving resident needs first and delivering top-notch customer service. I made many changes during my first term in order to achieve lower taxes and additional services.
I am eager to begin working on LA’s challenges and trying to make it an even better place to live and work.
