Internship Program

The Emerge California Internship Program offers participants a unique opportunity to participate in and experience the work of a political nonprofit organization. The program exposes interns to the day-to-day operations and the ins and outs of running the five-month training program. These experiences include working with constituents, conducting community outreach efforts, organizing events and projects, database development and maintenance, staffing the office, and other activities.

Internships are available to all part-time or full-time students 16 years of age or older. If the participant is high school, college, or graduate student, he/she may also receive different types of school credits for participating as an intern. An internship with Emerge California is an invaluable way to gain a true understanding of what it takes for women to run for and win elected office, as well as an excellent opportunity to make important contacts while serving the community.

Interns will gain valuable education and work experience by fully participating in agreed-upon hours of work. All internship work is voluntary and participants will not receive any monetary compensation.
