At Redwood City 2020, Tajel manages a major collaboration among the city, county, and school districts to provide critical family and children services and direct children and family policy.Prior to Redwood City 2020, Tajel served as Assistant Director, Department of Children, Youth and Their Families, City and County of San Francisco (DCYF), where she successful passed legislation that allocated over $30 million to children and youth issues. Tajel also was a Senior Manager for Organic Inc. where she managed global expansion into Asia, project management and client service. Tajel also worked for the SF Unified School District as an Associate Director for a professional development project and Executive Director for a non-profit in East San Jose.Tajel started her career as Vice President and President of United States Student Association where she successfully drafted language for the Reauthorization of the Higher Education Act 1990 and Violence Against Women Act and preserved minority scholarships. She was also a trainer for Midwest Academy in grassroots organizing. Tajel spoke at the 1990 March For Women’s Lives as well as led voter registration drives in New Hampshire to increase youth voting. Tajel is a proud mother of a very happy toddler.
