Read moreSuzie Abdou is a specialist on democracy, governance and gender with over ten years of experience in local politics, public policy and advocacy, both in the U.S. and abroad. In her commitment to empowering communities and individuals, she has successfully fundraised for political campaigns, women’s programs, and refugee communities in the EU and SWANA. Suzie is an ADEM49 Delegate and E-Board representative, Board member of the National Women’s Political Caucus’ L.A. Metro, Co-Director of the L.A. chapter of the Truman National Security Project and an alumna of Emerge California. In 2017, she was a Franklin Fellow with the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs and a Security Fellow with the Truman National Security Project.
In addition to being regularly called upon by NPR and news television programs to comment on foreign affairs and women’s issues, Suzie’s op-eds and blog contributions have been featured in online news outlets. Her community work spans both the political and the cultural and includes working on various international film festivals including the Arab Film Festival and Tunisian Film Festival in Los Angeles as well as the Dubai International Film Festival in the UAE.
Suzie holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of California Riverside and a Bachelor’s degree from Loyola Marymount University in Philosophy and Ancient Greek.
