Read moreRhodesia Ransom, a proud resident of Tracy California, is an innovative and effective community leader who has centered her life’s work on building consensus, solving problems and serving, in her community. As Executive Director of the Sow A Seed Foundation, she has developed innovative partnerships with local schools, public safety professionals and businesses to address a diverse array of unmet community needs. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from San Francisco State University, her Masters in Public Administration from Golden Gate University, and was a 2010 Fellow at the Great Valley Center’s Institute for Emerging Area Leaders.
Rhodesia has a longstanding recording of committed public service. She serves on the Tracy Planning Commission, Deuel Vocational Institution (prison) Citizens Advisory Committee, Tracy Women’s Forum Board of Directors, Kimball High School’s PTA (vice-president), and Tracy Unified School District’s Anti-Bully Committee. From 2006-2008 Rhodesia served as a member and vice foreperson on the San Joaquin County Civil Grand Jury, an investigative body providing oversight to governmental agencies throughout San Joaquin County.

As a result of her distinguished record of service to community, the Central Valley Drum Magazine featured Rhodesia Ransom as the 2007 Grassroots Activist of the year; The Tracy Women’s Forum named her the 2012 Woman of Tracy; and the Tracy African American Association honored her with the 2015 Martin Luther King Jr. image award.
