She has been a strong supporter of Democratic candidates in local, state and congressional races, as well as a volunteer for the Obama campaign in 2008 (as Precinct Captain for Congresswoman Barbara Lee’s district) and 2012. Attending the 2012 Democratic National Convention as a delegate was inspiring for Natasha, and a true honor to participate in the democratic process. Immediately following the convention experience, she continued to help with the Obama campaign and registered voters in Nevada. Over the summer, Natasha interned for the City of Oakland with Councilmember Larry Reid and while working on economic development projects, she had the opportunity to experience the inner workings of local government. As a strong advocate of women’s issues and more women running for office, Natasha organized events such as the California Women Lead Appointments Training Workshop, Meet the Author: Lilly Ledbetter and volunteered for fellow Emerge sisters running for positions in California. She has previously served on the board of the Family Violence Law Center for many years and also served her community as Vice President of Fundraising at Montera Middle School. Natasha has been a long time resident of the San Francisco Bay Area and a proud parent of a son attending a public high school in Oakland.
