Read moreLorraine Woodruff-Long is the Executive Director of the San Francisco Police Activities League (PAL) which provides 5,000 city youth with sports, recreation and leadership activities under the guidance of 800 volunteers. From 2005-2008 Lorraine served as the Executive Director of Parents for Public Schools, a network of parent leaders working to ensure quality public schools for all San Francisco children. Under her leadership, PPS-SF grew into a trilingual organization serving and supporting more than 10,000 families annually through parent-to-parent training, counseling, and leadership development. Lorraine’s professional experience spans 20 years in marketing, advertising and research in large and small businesses including Electronic Arts, FCB Advertising and Ninth House Network. A former Peace Corps volunteer in Kenya, Lorraine has participated in numerous public education election campaigns, served on the Mayor’s Policy Council for Children, Youth & Families and was Vice Chair of the City of San Francisco’s Children’s Fund Advisory Committee. Lorraine is a graduate of the Leadership San Francisco Class of 2009. She is currently a member of the Mayor’s Physical Activities Council, president of the Aptos Middle School PTA and serves on the San Francisco/Stonestown YMCA Board of Managers. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and two terrific kids.
