She has been in her position for two-and-a-half years, and has been a union member with three different unions. She became active with Teamsters Local 2010 as a member lobbyist before being hired at UFCW Local 135.
Lori recently began her third term on the San Diego County Democratic Central Committee in January 2017. A life-long democrat, she became involved in politics during the re-election in 2004 election of George W. Bush. She took part in anti-war movement and protested weekly until President Obama was elected. She volunteered for her first (Congressional) candidate and joined the La Mesa – Foothills Democratic Club. She has volunteered on several campaigns, from Congress to City Councils with the Democratic Go Team and with Labor.
Lori has volunteered rescuing dogs from high-kill shelters and advocated for animal organizations that rescue, rehabilitate and educate about wild animals. She will be lobbying for an elephant nonprofit in California State Assembly against a bill to be introduced in January 2018.
In her personal life, Lori loves walking her dog Rosie, reading, and movies. Lori has a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from San Diego State University.
