Read moreLinda M. Jackson is Vice-President of the Board of Education for San Rafael City Schools. First appointed in February 2006, and then elected in November 2007, Linda is Board representative to the Parents Council, the District English Language Acquisition Committee, and the Education Committee of the Chamber of Commerce. In fall 2009, she was elected Vice-President of the Marin County School Boards Association. She is currently serving on a countywide group of board members and superintendents completing a year long study of district collaborations for efficiency and collaboration. In addition to the School Board, Linda is a member of the Board of Directors of the Marin Education Fund, and volunteers with UrbanPlan, an Urban Land Institute educational project for high school seniors. Linda was a Peace Corps volunteer in Ecuador, and received a B.A. in urban studies from Wellesley College, and an M.S. in community and regional planning and an M.A. in Latin American studies from the University of Texas in Austin.
