Read moreLeigh Morgan, former Vice President & Global Head of Product Development Human Resources at Genentech, has worked in both the public and private sectors in a number of leadership roles. Her work in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors centered around human capital, merger & acquisition, change management, and business strategy. In the public sector, Leigh served in North Carolina Governor Jim Hunt’s administration, where she was a key leader in establishing the AmeriCorps National Service Program in that state. Prior to state government, she was Associate Director at the Carolina Justice Policy Center, and led a number of statewide, grass-roots organizing efforts addressing criminal justice and gender equity issues. She currently consults to academia and public companies on human capital strategies, social entrepreneurship, and executive leadership.
She is currently a volunteer business advisor with Pacific Community Ventures, is a member of the Gay & Lesbian Victory Campaign Fund, and is on the Board of Directors of NCLR, a national civil rights advocacy organization. She is also leading a case-study for Bamboo Finance, a commercial investment firm that focuses on social-purpose companies in developing countries. She completed her Master of Science at American University in Washington, D.C., and earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University, where she was point guard for the Duke Women’s Basketball team. Leigh proudly lives in Oakland, CA, and loves politics, the arts, and athletic adventures of all kinds.
