She manages VA benefits for veterans and beneficiaries who lack the capacity to handle their financial affairs due to a multitude of reasons ranging from dementia, mental illness, addiction, PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury. Katharine is responsible for the day to day financial needs of the client, ensuring their income is being used to their direct benefit and, appropriately spent and saved. Every day is different and provides a new set of challenges that requires forward thinking, planning, patience, problem solving and often times creative problem solving.
Katharine is involved in the leadership of Indivisible Women working closely with other community leaders to promote women’s right focusing primarily on a reproductive justice, preserving a woman’s right to choose if and when to start a family and, ensuring access to affordable reproductive healthcare especially in rural California.
