Read moreJulie M. Waters is the Tobacco Programs Manager at the American Lung Association in California. In this capacity she advocates for tobacco free laws in various Bay Area cities and is working closely with the City of Richmond to implement the strongest Smoke free Multi-unit Housing ordinance in the nation. Additionally, she serves as a Research Associate at the University of California; San Francisco on a TRDRP funded study examining Richmond’s landmark smoke free housing policy.Ms. Waters is a proud member of the African American Tobacco Control Leadership Council, TRDRP’s Policy Advisory Committee, Co-chair of the Contra Costa County Tobacco Prevention Coalition and Chair of the Greater Mosswood Neighborhood Association. She is a 2008 Cornelius Hopper Awardee, 2008 American Heart Association Policy Fellow, and a recipient of Contra Costa County’s 2010 “People Who Make a Difference Award.” Ms. Waters is an Oakland Native and is looking forward to serving the city she loves so dearly. She received BA in Psychology from San Diego State University.
