Read moreThe first person in her family to earn a college degree, Gina Fischer graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2007, majoring in political science and geography, and minoring in history. She has extensive experience in political organizing and non-profit leadership. During her undergraduate career, Gina interned at Planned Parenthood Central Coast Action Fund, helping manage their campus field operations to defeat harmful parental notification ballot initiatives. She has served as the Community Programs Manager for the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County, leading a portfolio of innovative and nationally recognized food programs aimed at ending America’s hunger crisis. Gina specializes in supporting first-time progressive women candidates running for office. Most recently she served as the Director of Public Policy at Planned Parenthood California Central Coast before departing to serve as the Chief Operations Officer for Joan Hartmann for 3rd District Santa Barbara County Supervisor. Upon Joan’s successful election to the Board of Supervisors, Gina took a position as a District Representative in her office. Gina has previously served as the Vice Chair of the Santa Barbara County Historic Landmarks Advisory Commission, and Chair of the Santa Barbara County Commission for Women and is the Co-chair for the UCSB All Gaucho Reunion. She is privileged to call the Central Coast her home and in her spare time enjoys walks at the Santa Barbara Botanical Garden and swimming.
