She is an elected District 2 representative for the San Joaquin County Democratic Central Committee (SJ DCC). In addition, she is a past SJ DCC County Executive Board Representative and is currently serving a second elected term as the Assembly District 13 Executive Board Member for the CA State Democratic Party. Her DSCC appointment is from Senator Cathleen Galgiani.
In 2012, she attended the Democratic National Convention as an appointed Presidential Delegate. She became the first female President of the Stanislaus-Tuolumne Counties Central Labor Council since it was founded in 1959, elected by blank ballot in February 2013. She is the past CA Statewide President for the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW) and is the founding President of the Central CA Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW) Chapter.
In 2014, she was appointed by Governor Brown to serve on the 2nd District Agricultural Association, San Joaquin County Fair Board. In 2015, she was appointed by the Chair of the CA Democratic Party, John Burton, to serve as Co-Chair on the Standing Legislation Committee.
