She has committed her career to serving as staff to strong Democrats, including Senator Bob Hertzberg, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, and Assemblymember Lloyd Levine, and currently works as District Director in the California State Senate.
Most recently, she was elected as a Delegate to the DNC as the top female vote-getter from CA-30.
During her five years working for Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Barri handled Federal Relations, West Valley community relations, did Advance, and hit the campaign trail in 2012 as staff for Villaraigosa when he Chaired the DNC.
Prior to returning to government, Barri was the Director of Government Relations at The Jewish Federation in Los Angeles, where she led a delegation of elected officials to Israel.
In addition to government, Barri is passionate about actively engaging in civic life and giving back to her community, serving on the Boards of Temple Judea, the Jewish Home for the Aging, the YMCA and New Directions for Youth.
Barri holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications with a minor in Political Science from UCSD, and a Master’s Degree in Journalism from the Annenberg School for Communication at USC. She was a founding member of the Beta Eta chapter of Alpha Epsilon Phi, the first Jewish sorority at UCSD. She loves yoga and traveling.
