Annan Paterson has been in front of audiences since she first realized she could make Uncle Dave laugh by imitating Bette Davis. At that moment, she knew that people: 1. loved to laugh, and 2. stopped to listen those who had something unique to say.
Her career and interests have provided unique training and experiences in school psychology, local politics and theatre.
A school psychologist since 1979, Annan has presented workshops for educational professionals on topics such as stress management, conflict resolution, emergency preparedness, grief counseling and race relations.
Annan honed her speaking skills as an active community volunteer and public servant. She served on her local community college board and debated issues such as transportation, clean energy and social equity in the political arena.
Annan has performed her original solo show, “Deep Canyon”, across the United States. An exploration of her mortality and her experience with ovarian cancer in 1989, she has performed for cancer survivors and medical professionals.
Annan earned her Bachelor’s Degree at U.C. Berkeley and her Master’s at California State University Hayward (now East Bay).
