Read moreAmy Rose is a commercial litigator and focuses her practice on federal and state court litigation including contract, intellectual property and business tort cases, insurance coverage disputes, unfair competition claims and appellate matters. A member of the Squire Sanders Appellate & Supreme Court Practice Group, her experience includes petitions for writ of certiorari to the US Supreme Court, appeals in the Sixth and Ninth Circuits and a number of appeals and writs before the California Court of Appeal. Amy also volunteers her time for pro bono appellate matters in the Sixth and Ninth Circuits including habeas corpus petitions, Section 1983 claims, employment matters and asylum appeals. From 2009 to 2011, Amy was annually named a Rising Star in Northern California Super Lawyers, a distinction that recognizes outstanding lawyers who are 40 years old or younger or who have been practicing for 10 years or less.
Amy is a member of the Executive Committee of the University of California, Hastings College of the Law’s Board of Governors and acts as the Board’s student liaison to promote student-alumni interaction, networking and mentoring. She is also an alumni coach and consultant for the University of California, Hastings College of the Law’s nationally acclaimed moot court program, for which she annually coaches second- and third-year law students competing in the John Marshall Law School International Moot Court Competition in Information Technology and Privacy Law. Amy was named Hastings’ 2008-2009 Alumni Coach of the Year.
Amy also chairs the United Way of the Bay Area’s Emerging Leaders Steering Committee. Emerging Leaders is a dynamic group of young professionals who support the United Way’s work to reduce Bay Area poverty by giving, advocating and volunteering, while forming a community-minded personal and professional network. The group’s stated mission is to “Empower and Educate Youth to Break the Cycle of Poverty,” which Emerging Leaders do through educational programs, book drives and other volunteer opportunities centered on disadvantaged youth and their families.
