She is also the Co-founder and President of Food Rescue, a non-profit community fruit tree harvest and food sharing program. They organize volunteers to harvest from residential properties as well as collect excess produce from Farmers’ Markets. All produce is distributed to those who want and need it, including food agencies throughout Vallejo California.
Adrienne is a community activist, political organizer, business woman and parent. Her political foci are GBLT Rights, Women’s Issues, Children’s Advocacy, Historic Preservation, and responsible economic development for the City of Vallejo and Solano County, California. Some of the many civic projects she has directed include a Youth Mural Arts Program, a Summer Arts Camp for kids, advocacy for historic Mare Island and Vallejo, and the management of important capitol improvements to Vallejo’s City Park including the building of a Community Center and orchestration of a Community Built Playground. Adrienne also sits on the Boards of the Vallejo Architectural Heritage Foundation, the Vallejo Charter School, and until recently was the Executive Director of the Vallejo Community Arts Foundation.Adrienne started to more seriously consider running for local office after working on the successful election of 2008 Emerge graduate Linda Seifert to the Solano County Board of Supervisors. While she generally viewed herself as more of a strategist and organizer, several people started to encourage her to bring her skills to elected office. She decided to learn more about a potential School Board candidacy through joining the Emerge program, since schools and quality education is the “#1 most discussed issue in our district.” Once Adrienne started to train with Emerge, she found the sessions “gave me confidence and every ounce of political experience possible without actually being on the campaign.” She loved seeking advice and counsel from her fellow program members as well as forming networks of support.
She holds a BA in Religious Studies from Mills College.
